FREE Marketing Strategy Giveaway: Winner Announcement

April 3, 2018

I want to thank all of the participants in our recent non-profit marketing strategy giveaway – we had a lot of fun with this contest and appreciate those that nominated and voted for community non-profits across the country. A special 'thank you' is due to Sonya Macatee, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas volunteer and scholarship donor who nominated BGC. Thank you, Sonya, for giving us the opportunity to support such a wonderful organization.

See the official final vote counts here.

About Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas’ mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

They serve over 2,000 students in 14 club locations around the greater Dallas area through an after-school program, spring break program, and summer program to help each child learn the importance of getting an education. The BGC provides a safe haven for most of these underprivileged children. They are fed upon arrival, then tutored and assisted with their homework by volunteers, and receive computer time in the computer labs. The students are sectioned off by age range 6-9, 10-13, 14-17. The website elaborates on the various programs that are available for the kids.

The Collegiate STEPs program where Sonya volunteers helps high school students learn how to get into college. The students receive help filling out the necessary paperwork they need for financial aid and applications for scholarships and receive assistance with ACT and SAT preparation.

Oftentimes, students are homeless, and the average household income for their families has been around $15,000 per year in previous years. Each student has his/her own struggle and survival story. Those stories included tragedies such as losing both parents as small children, parents who were overcoming drug addiction, and even sexual abuse.

In spite of their struggles, some receive college acceptance into Vanderbilt, UT Austin, TCU, USC and many more with the help of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas.

We couldn't be happier to work with the team at BGC and look forward to getting started!

If you missed the contest this year, don't worry! We're making this an annual tradition and we'd love to see your nominations who deserve a free marketing strategy in the future.
