More Hands on Deck: Cabéza Advertising Case Study

Texas-based advertising and marketing agency Cabéza Advertising was growing in 2017, taking new clients and expanding offerings.

Founder and CEO José García knew he needed more hands on deck and wanted to hire dependable administrative and marketing help. José wanted more marketing insight and administrative assistance, and a Trusty Oak Virtual Assistant turned out to be the ideal long-term solution to his business needs. José started out with one VA, Sonia Singh, and added an additional marketing VA, Caty Smart, as his company continued to grow. 


José knew he wanted to affordably scale his business, and he was looking for an employee with the right skillset. He wanted someone he could rely on to help him with serving his clients as well as marketing his business. His VA, Sonia, came with a host of marketing experience and a background in SEO and social media management. Sonia put her knowledge to work immediately and proactively, looking for ways to improve Cabéza Advertising. 

Solutions and Impact

Sonia quickly took ownership of her work with Cabéza Advertising, committing to improving the business and helping José succeed. She began blogging for the Cabéza website and managing social media, as well as developing communication workflows and handling day-to-day tasks so José could focus on growing his company. 

José and Sonia communicate often over Slack and email, and José has become a master delegator. In fact, when we reached out to ask him for a quote about his experience with Trusty Oak, he said he'd be happy to and that he'd refer the initial quote draft to his assistant (Sonia). Now there's an example of someone who knows how to get work off his plate and focus on productivity! 

Looking to the Future

Sonia and Caty now tag team supporting Cabéza Advertising. Sonia says she looks forward to continuing her work for José and helping him "grow his awesome business!"

Emily Fisk began her career in marketing after graduating from Boise State University with her B.A. in English, Rhetoric and Composition. Emily started freelancing as a writer and found Trusty Oak in 2016. Emily spent three years as a virtual assistant, helping clients build their digital marketing efforts, while taking on more responsibility as an account manager and marketing manager as Trusty Oak grew. In 2019, Emily took on the role of Marketing Director, and in 2020, she began serving as Trusty Oak's Vice President of Operations. Emily’s passion for clear communication, vibrant teamwork, and helping others find meaningful careers has made her a key part of Trusty Oak’s growth. She gets a kick out bringing Trusty Oak’s story alive and watching clients succeed. Under her leadership, the Trusty Oak marketing team has accomplished large-scale projects and numerous successful campaigns, undertaken new brand identity initiatives and launched innovative content. When she’s not working, Emily loves digging into a good book, cooking a delicious meal, and getting outside with her two daughters and husband. She lives in beautiful Boise, Idaho and is a founding member of a (totally cool, not at all nerdy) writing group.
